Cambodia ratified the convention on the right of the child (CRC) on October 15th 1992. The Royal Government of Cambodia subsequently established the Cambodia National Council for Children (CNCC) on November 20th 1995, according to the article 44 of the CRC, as a mechanism that coordinates and provides comments to the Royal Government on works related to the survival, development, protection, improve welfare of children, and child participant. At the end of 2009, the structures of CNCC were reformed in accordance with the progression towards the implementation of the child rights in Cambodia. CNCC has general secretariat as a assistant and establishes CNCC as municipal/provincial level and working group for children within the ministries and institutions.
